Our Promises to You

When you were asked to vote on the transfer of Gedling Borough Council’s housing stock we made 126 promises to our customers on the services we would provide. Since Gedling Homes was created in November 2008 and took over the management of your homes and neighbourhoods we have been working hard to fulfil the promises made to you. We have to report to the Board of Gedling Homes twice a year (October and April) on how we are progressing with the delivery of our promises.

How are we doing?

Out of the 126 promises made, 96 have now been delivered and a further 18 have plans in place to ensure delivery. Therefore 114 promises have a green status, an increase of 8 since September 2010.

Of the remainder of the promises 11 have been given an amber status to reflect that plans are currently being put in place to ensure delivery of the promise within target.

There is only 1 outstanding promise that is currently at red status, a reduction of 9 since September 2010. This promise relates to a review of the provision of extra care in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council. Due to the uncertainty of the impact of the proposed significant cuts in Notts CC Supporting People budgets it is unclear whether extra care provision will be an option in the future.

The following charts demonstrate progress in the last six months.

Can I see the promises that you made?

Yes - we have a detailed list of all the promises and their status. You can view this by clicking on this link.

How are the promises monitored?

Since the last report to Board, two of the Tenant Inspectors, Dora Godfrey and Helen Reyes-Minana, have received training to enable them to carry out independent checks of the evidence files, which support the progress being made on the promises. This followed a recommendation from the audit on “Delivering the Promises”. Dora and Helen have undertaken their first checks and identified some promises where they felt additional evidence was needed to support progress and this has now been provided.
