Jigsaw Foundation double in Gedling – funding still available.

Jigsaw Foundation double in Gedling – funding still available.

Jigsaw Foundation has awarded Nabarro Court Social Group in Gedling £1,140. Nabarro Court is an Independent Living Scheme in a fairly remote location and some residents have very little social interaction.

The group has been running for many years and their aim is to get our residents in the scheme and the neighbouring areas together with various activities. By doing this, it allows residents to form new friendships, get support from others and feel more valued. This helps tackle social isolation and improves the health and wellbeing of residents.

The social group are always looking at ways they can engage effectively with more people at the scheme and locally. They run a bingo afternoon, quiz nights, art groups and coffee mornings. They also hold many social events, such as an annual seaside trip, buffets, artist performances and more.

The Netherfield Forum was awarded £2,780 from the Jigsaw Foundation to host two popular festive community events free to all residents of Netherfield and surrounding areas. Both events were very well attended by tenants and local residents.

The Netherfield Forum is an established group that is well regarded in the local neighbourhood. They have a strong relationship with our local Neighbourhood Engagement Officer and host a range of activities to support health and wellbeing, social inclusion and training and employment. To find out more about the activities on offer at their base, visit St George’s Centre.

Jigsaw Foundation is our exciting £500k annual fund that supports local projects run by charities, resident and community groups, voluntary organisations, social enterprises and partner agencies.

We still have £22k worth of funding available for local community projects across Nottinghamshire.
