Training to benefit communities and job prospects!

The Neighbourhood Engagement Team organised and ran two accredited training courses for tenants at our head office in Ashton-under-Lyne.

24 residents completed the First Aid at Work and Food Hygiene Level 2 courses, designed to help individuals improve their knowledge and expand their skill base.

Some of the participants were community volunteers; others were job seekers looking to improve their employment prospects. The courses enabled attendees to gain recognised qualifications – in line with the Employment and Skills commitments of the Neighbourhood Plans.

Jean a volunteer at the Tameside Women’s and Families Centre, that passed the Food Hygiene Level 2 commented, ‘The training delivered was informative and fun. Everyone really enjoyed the experience and I will be back again in September for First Aid Training.’
